In the 1940s and 50s the Chewton community raised enough money to build our beloved pool. In 2011 we came together to save the swimming pool from closure and raised over $50,000 to refurbish it. About Us
We are a small family-friendly outdoor pool in the heart of Chewton, Central Victoria. Chewton Swimming Pool is a unique, community owned and operated facility, situated on Dja Dja Wurrung country, providing a key hub for social connection, recreation, health and aquatic education throughout the summer.
We only operate during the summer season, however can be contacted all year round. During the season we run a variety of programs, including our very own swim school, Chewton Swim.
Our association, Chewton Pool Inc., is governed entirely by a volunteer-led committee of management, alongside a wonderful community of volunteers and key seasonal professional staff. Our members and the wider community take great pride in this asset and look forward to sharing it with you soon.
Membership
By purchasing a season membership you are directly contributing to the ongoing running of the Chewton Swimming Pool. Community membership is a vital part of our association and assists with keeping the facility going.
Season Membership gives you access to the pool all season during opening hours, automatically adds you and your family as members and gives you access to discounts for the Chewton Swim & Golden Nuggets programs.
Chewton Swim
Swim and Survive, developed by Royal Life Saving is our core learn to swim and water safety education program for children, delivered by experienced AUSTSWIM-accredited central Victorian swim teachers, including Chewton’s very own award-winning Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, Frog Peck (ARV and AUSTSWIM Victorian Teacher of Year 2020).
