We are a small family-friendly outdoor pool in the heart of Chewton, Central Victoria. Chewton Swimming Pool is a unique, community-owned and operated facility, situated on Dja Dja Wurrung country, providing a key hub for social connection, recreation, health and aquatic education throughout the summer.
We only operate during the summer season, however can be contacted all year round. The pool is open from early December until early March and attracts up to 8,000 visits each season. During the season we run a variety of programs, including our very own swim school, Chewton Swim, our Aquadux (child-free sessions for our adult visitors) and other fitness programs. We run a number of events throughout the year, in and out of the season and are always keen to support our local community.
Our association, Chewton Pool Inc., is governed entirely by a volunteer-led committee of management, alongside a wonderful community of volunteers who, staff the kiosk, maintain the grounds and facilities and assist with events.
During the open season key professional staff, such as pool and facility managers and qualified pool lifeguards, are employed with the assistance of a grant from Mount Alexander Shire Council. All other expenses such as operational costs, maintenance and facility improvements, come from funds raised through membership fees, admissions, kiosk sales, fundraising, and other government grants.
The Victorian state Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), appoints the Chewton Pool Inc. Committee Management to operate the pools and above-ground facilities. Our members and wider community take great pride in this asset and look forward to sharing it with you soon.
More information about how we got here and who is involved will be coming soon to this page. In the meantime please contact us if you would like to learn more about our association or get involved.
See you at the pool,
