Terms & Conditions

To ensure that every member receives the maximum benefit of the services at the Pool, please take the time to read through the following Terms & Conditions, relevant to membership at Chewton Swimming Pool.
General Conditions
All participants must abide by the general terms and conditions of the Chewton Swimming Pool - Management reserves the right to refuse entry, suspend or cancel membership without refund, or request any person to leave the premises if that person does not behave in a responsible manner, uses abusive language, is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol or does not adhere to the general conditions of entry. Every effort will be made to operate the pool based on the advertised hours, however Chewton Pool reserves the right to change opening times as necessary. In addition, as a condition of entry and therefore condition of membership, all participants must abide by the Pool rules and general conditions of entry as listed at the pool gate and on the pool change-rooms.
Membership
By purchasing a season membership you are directly contributing to the ongoing running of the Chewton Swimming Pool. Buying a season membership automatically adds you and your family as members of the Chewton Pool Incorporated association. This gives you access to voting rights at the AGM or rules of association matters.
Weather policy
As Chewton Pool is an outdoor facility, there are certain weather conditions where the pool is closed to the public. If the BoM weather forecast for Chewton for the following day is 22 degrees or less, Chewton Pool will not open. Pool closures will be announced on the Chewton Pool Inc. Facebook page, Instagram and website. Additionally the pool will close if there is storm activity in the area or it is declared a Code Red fire danger day. No refunds will be made on season membership due to weather policy closures.
Payment of Fees
Membership Fees must be paid in full when completing the application form, or once the invoice is received. Chewton Pool is equipped to take cash or EFTPOS payment, however online application are encouraged to pay via bank transfer as listed on your membership invoice. Families requiring financial assistance are encouraged to speak to management.
Supervision
In accordance with the Watch Around Water policy, parents are not permitted to leave children under the age of 10 unaccompanied at any time while they are at Chewton Pool, including during Learn to Swim lessons. Children be accompanied by a guardian 16 years or over at all times. Children under the age of 5 MUST be within arms reach of a parent guardian at all times. COVID 19
Please do not attend the pool if you feel unwell, have travelled overseas in the past 14 days or have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. If you have any of the following symptoms, get tested; fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or taste. Stay home until you get your test result.
Health
Appropriate clean and suitable swimming attire is required for entry to the pool. We request that children up to the age of 24 months wear bather and elastic waist and leg bands or ‘aqua nappies’. Please do not attend the pool if you or your child has had diarrhoea or has been vomiting in the past 24 hours.
Medical Conditions
Chewton Pool management need to be aware of any existing conditions a member may have so that they can appropriately respond in an emergency. This information is kept confidential and is only shared with staff directly responsible for the appropriate action
